    At Genesis we believe that the health care and insurance industries are in dire need of reform.  The President of the Washington Business Group on Health (which represents 180 major corporations) said that "the average cost of a family health plan rose from $8,000 in 2002 to more than $9,000 this year (2003)". Health care cost actually exceeded $10,000 in 2004!  In a WebMD article it stated that the total health coverage for a typical family of four is near $11,000 per year and is expected to top $17,000 per year by the end of 2010. This is an alarming fact since it makes the average monthly health insurance payment of $750 to over $900 and going up!  We at Genesis are on the cutting edge of helping individuals and families find solutions to the constant increase of health care costs.  We are addressing the problems that have arisen in the health insurance industry like higher premiums, higher deductibles, more exclusions, stricter pre-existing condition clauses and claim denials.

    Medical savings cards have been around for about 15 years. They were, however, typically used for dental, vision and pharmacy services, and were accepted as the norm. These services operated under less complex guidelines, therefore, it was straight-forward. In this age of managed care, it is common practice for doctors and hospitals to join a Preferred Provider Organization (PPO) to assure themselves a patient base. The PPO network provides assurance that the medical providers in their networks have met certain credential requirements and that there will be savings on services from providers in that particular PPO.

    Genesis contracts with these networks to direct financially responsible business to the doctors, hospitals and other providers in that network. The Genesis program creates a "win-win" situation between the medical provider and the patient. The medical provider "wins" by getting a steerage of patients and be allowed to practice medicine without third party interference, and getting paid promptly. The patient "wins" by getting real savings and a choice of quality providers and the networks "win" by getting paid for developing a panel of medical providers and negotiating the fee schedules.

    The Genesis member receives better medical rates, the medical provider gets paid promptly (as opposed to waiting as much as 90 days to receive payment from an insurance company) and saves money by not having to file insurance claims. In addition, all health care decisions are completely in the hands of the doctor and the patient and not dictated by a third party.

    At Genesis customer service is just a phone call away.  Not only will we help you with your normal customer service needs but our customer service departments will also help you find a provider that best suits your needs.  Eligible participants include individuals and families. A family would consist of a husband, wife, children age 24 and under, and/or parents over the age of 60 living with, or are in the care of the family member purchasing the program.
